![]() ![]() The nice takeaway is that it gives the company an incentive to actually update their stuff instead of letting it waste away over the eons. I had to pay $50 for upgrading 32Lives a few years back. I get that the concept of doing paid upgrades for plugs is a little controversial, but not unheard of. Ive tried everything on the internet but it just keeps on going the same process over and over and over again. The fact that it caps at $225 is pretty reasonable. OS X could not be installed inyour computer I tried installing El Capitan on my uncles MacBook pro 2011 but its saying that OS X could not be installed and that no packages were eligible for install. You probably end up paying a lot less than on normal upgrade services for pro software. I will say, maybe it was bad before, but the Waves WUP system seems actually pretty nice. Of course, many of you are at cap WUP ($225), but for those fair-weather waves users like me, this can reduce costs. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), if you untick them, your WUP total goes down. Every holiday season or so they put out a few freebies, usually OneNobs, and I seem to have received RBassComp at some point. You can bet I'm making a new boot disk image right now!īTW: I just noticed, for anyone thinking of updating their WUP. Running it installs the WaveShell 9.92 and that's just "no-go" for me in DP 9.52. Also, I still don't know why the offline v9 installer just doesn't seem to work for me. Must be just me, but I find the whole Waves thing confusing. I think I'm finally made whole again and then updated to v10 for the plugs that were eligible. Had to uninstall the v10 plugs, and then temporarily move the WaveShell 10 from Component folder so DP would re-scan the v9 MM plugs, and then put it back. All seemed good until the Waves Central (v10) thought my Manny Marroquin plugs could be updated when they couldn't. I then went to and figured out which plugs were still under WUP and then updated JUST THOSE plugs to v10. I reverted to that version from a disc image. Like before the 9.92 Waveshell doesn't seem to be working for me. I guess version 10 plugs co-exist with version 9 plugs. well I'm back and a little better before. If you are booting the El Capitan installer you want to erase the physical drive as GUID partition and MacOS Extended (Journaled).Okay. If you are booting the Catalina installer you want to erase the physical drive as GUID partition and APFS (top option). The physical drive should appear as something like "Apple SSD. With later versions of macOS (10.13+) you first need to click on "View" within Disk Utility and select "Show All Devices" before the physical drive appears in the left pane of Disk Utility. Once you boot to the online installer whether it is Catalina or El Capitan you will need to select and erase the whole physical drive. You may have to reset the date and time after the PRAM reset. I've found some computers will only boot to the oldest version of the macOS installer. Then try booting into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R to try to boot to the online Catalina installer. It is a shame Apple is making this so much harder than it should be.įirst try an SMC reset and a PRAM reset (hold the PRAM reset for at least three chimes so it activates several times). Instead simply Quit and shutdown the computer. When the installation is completed the system will boot automatically.
